Trial set in ExxonMobil Spill

Trial set in ExxonMobil state, federal lawsuit
1 Nov. 2013

LITTLE ROCK, AR (AP) – A federal judge has set a trial date for a lawsuit by the state of Arkansas and federal prosecutors against ExxonMobil Pipeline Company and Mobil Pipeline Company.

U.S. District Judge James Moody on Thursday scheduled a pre-trial conference on the lawsuit for Feb. 23, 2015 and the trial to start the following day. Moody also set deadlines for various motions and reports to be filed during 2014 in advance of the trial.

The lawsuit filed jointly by federal prosecutors and Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel seeks civil penalties for the oil spill in a Mayflower subdivision. Exxon’s Pegasus pipeline ruptured in March, spilling thousands of barrels of oil into the neighborhood about 25 miles northwest of Little Rock.

Long rants proclaiming the infallibility of your own views or favorite ideology will not be posted, neither will repeated attempts to hammer on a point already addressed, nor will comments containing profanity, abusive language, flame-baiting and name calling. I have no idea what they were referring to and no way to contact them. This is why we prefer comments that are signed by actual persons who leave their E-Mail address (it won't be published) so they can be contacted if questions arise.
